Once a fluke, twice a coincidence, and thrice a trend — is what the fashion crowd say. And teaming a luxe kurta with your suit is looking like it’s going to be the next big menswear trend for the party season ahead. Why do I say so?
Well, we have seen Harshvardhan Kapoor sport that combo a good few times during the Mirzya press junket (see here, here, here and here), but it looks like Ranbir Kapoor has now joined in the movement.

Yep, he slipped a kurta underneath his black jacquard tailored number from Kunal Rawal’s Winter/Festive’16 collection for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and in so doing, looked ridiculously rakish. Now we need another Bollywood hunk to wear this combo for it to become a legit menswear trend ;-)
But guys, you shouldn’t wait for this trend to take off in a big way. Be ahead of the curve: take out your best silk kurta, give it a good press and wear it with your suit for your next dinner/wedding invitation. You’ll be the most stylish man in the room :-)
P.S- Just to be clear, I’m not suggesting that Ranbir copied Harsh or vice versa — the big idea might have come from the same place.
